Nina Vicious (formerly Nina Azucar) is an award winning DJ based in Brooklyn, NY with over 5 years of professional experience rocking some of NYC’s hottest parties and events from Afrolatino Festival NYC to Soul In The Horn.  Nina’s musical roots range from hip hop to dancehall to house and also incorporate her parents cultural influence (Puerto Rico & Haiti respectively). With a Master's Degree in Music Performance, her classical training informs her approach to DJ’ing which prioritizes seamless blends, thoughtful song selections, and transitions, creating a one of a kind vibe, a balancing act that caters to the crowd but also shines a light on music and artists that might not be on everyone’s radar. Nina has had the pleasure of DJ’ing alongside prominent acts DJ Evil Dee, DJ Premier, Tony Touch, Lord Finesse, Natasha Diggs, DJ Scratch, Talib Kweli, Easy Mo Bee, DJ Moma & more.  Nina has held residencies on Beatminerz Radio & Halfmoon BK Radio.

She has been featured at NYC’s top dance venues including House of Yes and Elsewhere, and is currently a recurring DJ at Top 40 hot spots across the Lower East Side such as The Delancey, Lucky Jacks, and Grey Lady, where she is booked through Downtown Talent. She also holds monthly residencies at Union Hall and Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club. In addition to her performance schedule, she has joined the staff at Scratch DJ Academy, where she teaches introductory DJing, and is a recurring DJ on the Academy’s radio show on Newtown Radio.
